Matt Cohen

Matt Cohen is a New Hampshire-based nature and wildlife photographer whose work is inspired by the landscapes, wildlife, and natural beauty of New England and beyond. Drawn to changing light, seasons, and fleeting moments in the natural world, he seeks to create images that convey not simply what he sees, but something of the experience of being there.

A lifelong photographer, Matt has developed his craft through decades of photographing the world around him. His work ranges from quiet winter scenes and mountain vistas to lakes, waterfalls, and the New England coast. Whether photographing the mood of a New Hampshire landscape, loons on a quiet lake, birds of prey, or animals encountered close to home, patience and observation are fundamental to his approach. He is particularly drawn to moments that reveal behavior and personality in wildlife or offer a distinctive perspective on a landscape or familiar scene.

Much of Matt’s inspiration comes from the varied landscapes and wildlife of his home state of New Hampshire. He finds great joy in sharing what he observes through his photography and helping others see familiar places and subjects in a new way. That connection extends to conservation through his volunteer work helping to monitor and protect New Hampshire’s wildlife.

For Matt, a successful photograph does more than preserve a moment: it invites others to experience something of what drew him to it in the first place.
