Jurg Jenzer
Jurg Jenzer was born in Bern, Switzerland in 1954. He studied at the State Teachers College in Bern before continuing his graduate education at Boston University, where he earned both his M.Ed. and Ed.D. degrees.
Deeply inspired by creativity and the natural world, Jurg’s artistic influences include H. R. Giger, Piet Mondrian, and J. Vint. His work combines the warmth and character of wood with the fluid beauty of epoxy, resulting in unique functional art pieces that blend craftsmanship with modern design.
Now based in New Hampshire, Jurg creates his work from his studio, where he designs and handcrafts coffee tables, dining tables, console tables, wall hangings, charcuterie boards, and paintings. His passion for art is complemented by a love of kayaking, gardening, and fly fishing, and he enjoys spending time outdoors whenever possible. A favorite author of his is John Gierach, whose writing reflects many of the quiet outdoor moments Jurg values.
Above all, Jurg treasures time spent “horsing around” with his grandchildren, finding joy and inspiration in family, nature, and the creative process.
