Lisa Marder
Lisa Marder is a Boston area artist whose paintings focus on light, space, and color to capture a moment and the spirit of place. She earned her BA degree from Williams College with a major in Biology and a concentration in Environmental Studies, followed by a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University. Undergraduate art classes while a graduate student fueled her lifelong love of art and nature.
Lisa does studies directly from the landscape as well as using a combination of reference photos, sketches, memory, and her response to the painting as it develops to create larger studio paintings. She has taught art for many years and and has written about it as a Painting Expert for Thought.Co as well as for TheArtStory.
Lisa is a juried artist member of multiple organizations, including a Signature Member of the National Association of Women Artists. Her paintings have been exhibited as part of the Healing with Art Program through the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Norris Cancer Center, and can be found in both private and corporate collections.
